PA Mill Addendum

I can't back this up with any news items, so let me apologize off the top. But if SDA can make post after post of unsubstantiated claims, so can I.

Further to my previous post, I've been told by a reliable source close to the Leader of the Opposition that Prince Albert Mayor Jim Scarrow found out through the media that the Sask Party would not be honouring the Domtar MOU. When Calvert phoned Domtar CEO Raymond Royer to talk about the current mill situation, he was told that Royer also learned of the Sask Party's actions through the media.

Neither Wall, nor Boyd, nor Hicke felt it was necessary to talk to the Mayor of the city or the CEO of the company on the other end of the agreement before taking action. We're already seeing that this style of "consultation" will be a common theme for this government.

Even though they have only been in power for a few days, the right wing crew that is now the government suffers from an affliction known as:
A-R-R-O-G-A-N-C-E!!

In all fairness to the Saskatchewan Party, they suffered from the same affliction while in opposition. Remember the good old days of the pre-2003 election when the Sk. Party just assumed it would be the next government?

As thrilled as I am to be on your blogroll, would you spell the accusation properly?

I think you're mistaking someone willing to listen, and even change their opinion given sufficient evidence, as a "yes man".

No Saskboy, I'm not mistaking anything. From reading your blog, I see a guy who was so far removed from reality that he wanted to vote Green federally, in spite of the fact that this would only ensure more years of Conservative MPs in Saskatchewan. And this is notwithstanding the Greens' shitty policies and disenfranchisement of voters. I suppose you might actually be voting Liberal federally now, which would of course be a nod to their decisive leadership, staunch opposition to the Conservatives, and awesome potential to serve as an effective government.

Then, during the provincial campaign, you sold out again by saying people should be voting Liberal -- no doubt because your father was running as a candidate. And as it turns out, the Liberals didn't get a single seat. They didn't crack 10% of the vote. Why, they were even beaten by the Greens in Cumberland, which goes to show you how much Saskatchewan voters really want to see the Liberals back in the Legislature.

I want you to be on the side of the progressives, Saskboy, I really do. But you're not right now. You can hide behind that open mind of yours all you'd like, but Karwaki ran a shitty campaign, going so far as to endorse Brad Wall as Premier. I don't know how you can reconcile a vote for the Liberals under that banner as a progressive vote.

I will give you credit for supporting electoral reform and greener environmental initiatives. But given that the NDP pledged to explore electoral reform if they were re-elected and that the federal NDP are in favour of scrapping the first-past-the-post system, I can't help but wonder what kind of evidence it would take for you to change your opinion to support the NDP.

Thanks for correcting my spelling.
