On Irony

Am I the only one who finds it funny that the Canadian Taxpayers Federation doesn't issue tax receipts for donations?

Of course, they do that so they won't have to release that their main funders are businesses and not the grassroots, private individuals they claim to speak for. But still, you'd think an organization with a mandate to reduce taxes would want to assist their donors in doing that.

Wrong. Clearly you don't know or have ignored the charitable status rules in Canada. Registered charities are restricted in the amount of time and resources they can spend on advocacy (around 20%). The CTF is probably 80% advocacy. We would never qualify for charitable status.

Further, we don't support tax mitigation, but rather tax reduction.

Lastly, philosophically we disagree with taxpayers being forced through their tax dollars to contribute to any organization. If we were a charity, your tax dollars would go to support our aims. We believe Canadians who wish to contribute should do so with free-will, not be forced to do so against their wishes.
